Dear Neighbors,
We are writing to let you know about upcoming events on campus with potential traffic and amplified sound impacts to you.
Tomorrow, Senior parents are invited to Branson's annual Convocation during the school day from 10 am to 11:30 am. Parents will park on campus and the hour-long ceremony will take place in our rustic outdoor seating area on Prize Day Field (at the end of Hillgirt), with an outdoor reception to follow. As always, we’ve encouraged parents to carpool whenever possible, obey local speed limits, and not park on the streets near campus. This event will use amplified sound in accordance with our Conditional Use Permit.
On Saturday, our 8-person football team will compete in a home game on Tom Ryan Field at 1 pm against Calistoga. We invite you to join us!
Next week, Branson will be hosting a number of events on campus to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.
-
We invite all our neighbors and community members to join us for an evening performance by the Recycled Orchestra of Cateura in our Jewett Family Theater that evening, Tuesday, October 3 from 6:30-7:30 pm. Featured in the 2015 documentary film, Landfill Harmonic, this youth orchestra from Asunción, Paraguay plays instruments entirely made from scrap materials collected from their local Cateura landfill. Playing a wide range of musical genres, they have performed internationally with American musicians such as Stevie Wonder and Metallica. Learn more and reserve free tickets here.
- The orchestra will also play outside in our rustic outdoor seating area on Tuesday, October 3 from 10 am-10:30 am for our student assembly (not a public event). This event will use amplified sound.
- We will be welcoming a prominent guest speaker to campus on Wednesday, October 4 as well, with some parents and alumni coming to campus, but we do not expect significant traffic impact from this.
Finally, we are currently in the middle of our second annual fall monitoring period and we appreciate your continued partnership with us as we strive to limit traffic on campus. If you’re interested in reviewing the notes from our last Neighborhood Group Meeting in August, you’ll find them on the “For Neighbors” page on our website.
